Our community spirit will be on full display on Friday 21 August 2026, as we host an evening of Byng's Pig Racing at Blackawton Village Hall in aid of securing the future of our beloved pub, The George Inn.
Expect an entertaining night of Pig Racing (no live animals involved!). Place your bets, cheer on your chosen pig, and compete for some fantastic prizes, including cash. Doors and the bar open at 5pm, with the action kicking off at 6pm.
Entry is just £3 per person, which includes a race programme. We'll have hot dogs with sausages provided by Daynes Farm Shop and popcorn available throughout the evening, while DJ Diamond Lil spins some tunes to keep the atmosphere buzzing.
Please note: this event and purchase of food is cash only. The bar accepts card payments.
This evening is the latest in our series of fundraising events in aid of saving The George Inn, as we're determined to keep the doors of this much-loved community hub open for many years to come.
